I bought this bulb as a replacement for one that went out in my patio ceiling fan. These four pin spiral bulbs are VERY hard to find (Home Depot and Lowes did not have them) so ordering one online is about your only bet.

There are numerous base styles for this type of bulb. Just to be clear, this bulb has a G24q-1 base - which means it has a ridge on two opposing sides of the base. It will ONLY fit fixtures which accept this exact base.

I've been using the bulb for a few weeks and so far so good. If all goes well it should last a few years under casual usage.

All of the ceiling light sockets in my apartment are these new fangled Twist Pin Base variety. It's a little hard to find these lights, but once again Amazon comes to the rescue.

I got 2 to test out and they fit perfectly. I took a quick picture of the socket and matched it to the upclose picture of the bottom of this light and even did a Google search of the serial number (because I fancy myself a part-time detective).

They were installed in about 10 seconds and work perfectly. Make sure you pay attention to the proper wattage of your socket, you don't want an "incident" that ends with you and the landlord and the fire department all pointing fingers at each other.

Exactly the bulbs I needed for my ceiling fan, it's awful that I cant just go to a hardware store to buy these, but, nonetheless, they work.

if you manage to find these buy a few as they are the hardest bulbs to find. have a few ceiling fans that require these and spent months trying to get a hold of these as they were always out of stock. A bit pricey but they do last many years

We have a ceiling fan and it takes these really odd CF bulbs...something I did not recognize would be a problem. When we tried to find these it was impossible at local large national chain stores ...thankfully they were on Amazon. Seem to work well and were easy to install. Hope we won't need more for some years.

The base did not fit into shocket correctly, would not lock in place, there for the power pins would not mate into the socket correctly. Therefore I returned them.

These are hard to find for an older Home Depot ceiling fan light, after replacing the old ones you can tell that it is brighter in the room.

These bulbs replace the Hampton Bay fan upper lights. They fitted well for the two burnt out bulbs.
